Mike - Pinball I&II

This is MIKE at his most "sociable." While his previous work (Disco!, Burning Desire) was often drenched in hazy, introspective samples, the Pinball series is built on Tony Seltzer’s signature "bubbly" trap and Detroit-influenced bounce. The production is crisp, heavy on the bass, and intentionally fast-paced. It’s the sound of a rapper who is no longer "sleepy" or hiding behind a wall of static, he’s front and center, catching every pocket of the beat.

The Pinball saga is a masterclass in collaboration. Tony Seltzer pushed MIKE into a more accessible, energetic space without stripping away the "soul" that made him a cult icon. While Pinball I had the "shock of the new" factor, Pinball II is a more refined, expansive look at that same sound.
